….If your Ham is not glazed is it really even Christmas??!

Julie’s glazed ham recipe has been highly sought after by anyone who has tasted it. And now it’s finally available to share with you.

I’ve been glazing our Christmas ham this way for many years now… Each year I would ask the family if we should try something new, but the answer was inevitably… “NO!” so I think I’ve nailed it!!

It turns out this recipe is concocted from a couple of different recipes I had used over the years, and then combined the best elements from each.

The glaze will work on most hams, with or without the bone.

TASTING NOTES !

The gently spicy flavours of the star anise and Chinese Five spice shine through the subtle caramel sweetness of the maple syrup, all underpinned by the warm smokiness of the whisky, and the house will smell amazing as it bakes!! The crust of brown sugar and macadamia nuts will melt into a soft and sticky, burnished toffee coating.

This ham really is perfectly matched to the Sparkling Glen Malbec 🍷   (which is available at our Cellar Door or via our online shop) which is soft and generous on the palate, and complements the juicy salty flesh and sweet, sticky glaze!!

Serve this glazed ham for Christmas lunch and your friends and family will think you are a culinary genius and the big secret is that it’s really not that difficult!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! 🎄🎁
